The Montenegro Economic Citizenship Program (MECP), also referred to as “Montenegro Special Investment Scheme” came into effect in 2018, giving investors the chance to obtain Montenegro Passport through investment. Investors are required to make a onetime, nonrefundable contribution to the Montenegrin government as well as invest in a government-approved real estate property. Once investment is made, investors and their family members will undergo a due diligence process in order to obtain second citizenship in Montenegro.
