Montenegro introduced its Citizenship by Investment in October 2018, allowing investors to obtain a second citizenship in 6 short months.

Montenegro is a European Country on the coast of the Balkans. It is known for its mountainous nature, picturesque coast, and well-preserved old towns making Montenegro an attractive tourist destination.

INVESTMENT SCHEME

The Montenegro Citizenship can be obtained in 6 months, through a 2-part investment of: Government contribution and real estate investment for as little as €350,000.

  1. €100,000 Donation in a Government Funds plus
  2.  

€250,000 investment in approved real estate in an undeveloped area (in the north of the country),

or €450,000 Investment in approved real estate in a developed region (in the south of the country).

LEGAL BASIS


The Montenegro Economic Citizenship Program (MECP), also referred to as “Montenegro Special Investment Scheme” came into effect in 2018, giving investors the chance to obtain Montenegro Passport through investment. Investors are required to make a onetime, nonrefundable contribution to the Montenegrin government as well as invest in a government-approved real estate property. Once investment is made, investors and their family members will undergo a due diligence process in order to obtain second citizenship in Montenegro. Montenegro Citizenship by Investment Program is open for 2,000 non-EU applicants only.
